Dr. Charles C. Camosy a The Catholic University of America morálteológia és bioetika egyetemi docense. Introduction
Dr. Charles C. Camosy is Associate Professor of Moral Theology and Bioethics at The Catholic University of America. He received his Ph.D. in Christian Ethics from the University of Notre Dame in 2008, after completing an M.A. in Systematic Theology and B.A. degrees in Philosophy and in Communications and Theatre at Notre Dame.
His research and teaching span bioethics, nursing ethics, elder justice and disability rights, AI and biotechnology ethics in health care, moral anthropology, Catholic Social Teaching, and distributive justice.
Before joining Catholic University, he was Professor of Bioethics at Creighton University School of Medicine and previously taught theology at Fordham University. His scholarship also engages dialogue between Christian and secular ethics, human dignity, end-of-life decision-making, and the protection of vulnerable persons.
His current professional engagements include advisory and consulting work on AI ethics and human dignity, health-care ethics, and the relationship between technology and human dignity. His public and academic work also addresses polarization, intellectual solidarity, the moral status of non-human animals, and prenatal justice.
