Prof. Dr. Birher Nándor Máté a Pázmány Péter Katolikus Egyetem Bölcsészet- és Társadalomtudományi Karának dékánja, valamint a Gondoskodáspolitikai Intézet Karitásztudományi Tanszékének egyetemi tanára. Szakmai munkája a filozófiai antropológia, az etika, a keresztény társadalmi tanítás, az erkölcsteológia, a kánonjog és a jogelmélet metszéspontjában helyezkedik el. Kutatásai azt vizsgálják, hogyan alakítják a morális, jogi, vallási és társadalmi normák a közéletet, az intézményi felelősséget és az emberi méltóság védelmét. Tudományos profilja közvetlenül kapcsolódik a minőségbiztosítás, a folyamatszabályozás, a felelősség, a bizalom, a szakmai etika, a szolidaritás, valamint a vallás, a jog és a társadalmi szabályozás összefüggéseihez. Filozófiai, jogelméleti, társadalometikai, karitásztudományi és minőségbiztosítási tapasztalata széles keretet ad a közintézmények, gondoskodási rendszerek és társadalmi gyakorlatok erkölcsi alapjainak elemzéséhez. A vallás társadalmi szabályozó szerepével, a karitatív tevékenység professzionalizmusával, a szolidaritással és a béke etikájával foglalkozó munkái fontos fogalmi hátteret nyújtanak az emberközpontú kormányzás, a közfelelősség és a társadalmi átalakulások etikai értékelése számára.
