Mathieu Guillermin fizikából és filozófiából szerzett PhD-fokozattal rendelkezik, és a Lyon Catholic University egyetemi docense, valamint a CONFLUENCE: Sciences et Humanités kutatóegység (EA 1598) tagja. Fő oktatási és kutatási területei az etika, a tudomány- és technológiafilozófia – különösen a digitális és MI-technológiák –, valamint az ismeretelmélet. Különösen érdekli az etika, a tudomány és a technológia közötti kapcsolat. Mathieu elkötelezetten vonja be a társadalmi és érintetti közösségeket azokba a megkülönböztetési folyamatokba, amelyek a digitális és MI-technológiák etikus fejlesztésére és használatára irányulnak. Ebben az összefüggésben koordinálja a „New Humanism in the time of Neuroscience and Artificial Intelligence” (NHNAI) nemzetközi akciókutatási projektet, amely az International Federation of Catholic Universities égisze alatt több mint tíz katolikus egyetem, kilenc országot átfogó hálózatának erőforrásait állítja az MI-etikai közös reflexió szolgálatába. Emellett számítógéptudósokkal és MI-fejlesztőkkel működik együtt annak érdekében, hogy erősítse a tudományos és technológiai kutatási projektek etikai és filozófiai dimenzióit.

Introduction

Mathieu Guillermin is a PhD in physics and philosophy, an associate professor at the Lyon Catholic University and a member of the CONFLUENCE: Sciences et Humanités research unit (EA 1598). His main teaching and research areas are ethics and philosophy of science and technology (especially digital and AI technologies) and epistemology. He is particularly interested in the relationships between ethics, science and technology. Mathieu is strongly committed to involving societal and stakeholders’ communities in discernment processes aimed at ethical development and use of digital and AI technologies.

In this respect, he notably coordinates the international action-research project "New Humanism in the time of Neuroscience and Artificial Intelligence" (NHNAI) that, under the aegis of the International Federation of Catholic Universities, is devoted to putting at the service of collective reflection on AI ethics the resources of a network of more than ten catholic universities in 9 different countries all over the globe. He also collaborates with computer scientists and AI developers to reinforce ethical and philosophical dimensions of scientific and technological research projects.
